Thomas Markham
![]() |
In this edition, we recognize an individual who inspires others through his hard work. Tom Markham was nominated by Earney White and Preston Champagne. | |
| Thomas Markham came to work for NABORS OFFSHORE after working for Loffland overseas and NDUSA. He has worked for NODI since 1993 as a Master Electrician. Tom was heavily involved in the electrical system designs for the Tortuga Rigs 269 and 270, as well as the MASE 802 and 803 rigs, and the most recent API Rig 86. He is not only involved in the design of the systems, he also installs them during the offshore rig-up a remarkable achievement for someone who is 71 years young! | Tom is an
inspiration and a mentor for those willing to learn from
him, and he is often asked to share his talents with
others. "In fact," says Earney White, "Tom
has more energy than most people half his age!"
"He takes great pride in his work, and is truly an
asset to the Company," says Preston Champagne. Currently, Tom is working in the Roberds Johnson yard in Houston. |

![]() Our first Distinguished Employee -- Jimmy Ellerbe received a handsome plaque and a generous check from the Scuttlebutt Editor, Lisa Vallentine, in November. Jimmy was on location at Roberds Johnson just before Rig 86 went out to work for Shell. He was promoted to Toolpusher on the newly refurbished API Rig 86 after eight years of high standards performance on the Dolphin 105.
